Time Off

Having some time off from everything in the busy city life. Enjoying every moment of doing nothing at all is fun and relaxing. This trip back to Malaysia is great as i am able to join my friends for a hiking trip to Gunung Irau.

We did this once three years back and i would say, the view on to of Gunung Irau is as beautiful as before. Though this time we we not able to view Ipoh town from the top due to the raining seasion and the mist was too thick. But one thing that has changed is that there is a Board Walk constructed for tourism purpose. This has, i feel, spoil the natural scene of the trek and forest. Information from our guide, it cost 600K to built the board walk. But the most sad part is that the goverment has mowed down a few old trees to make way for this board walk which enable tourist to experience the Mossy FOrest environment without getting dirty.

As usual, we Malaysian has the first class facilities but worse than 3rd world nation maintenance. We can see rubbish along the board walk which again spoilt the natural habitats. I would advise frens that wanna go in to nature to have this in mind, Take Nothing But Photograph, Leave Nothing But Foot Steps.

We did our part, since most of us are smokers, we didnt throw butts around, we keep it with a container and throw it in the bin when we reached to our guest house. We brought down our rubbish. But along the way, we still can see mineral bottles, candy's wrappers, and even a broken glasses. Those who did this really do not care and appreciate the mother nature.

The journey up was tiring but it is worth every little step that we took to get up there. Standing in the middle of rain forest clouds, feeling the rain drops and wind blowing all around us is hard to describe in any words, one have to really experience it to tell the story. Hehehe, but it is really no words to describe. It just fantastic, marvellous!

We break our record, we did it the first time, when all of us was first timer. 6 hours, this time 4 hours. And we manage to lit up the camp fire in the middle of the rain, thanks to the Gunung Irau information board.

At this moment while blogging,  i am staying in Twin Pines Guest House. Cheap but comfortable. With only Rm10 per nite, nothing to complain about and ofcos nothing to compare about with hotels.

So guys, it is good to take some time off once in a while to really refresh yourself in everyday works. It helps to think less and release yourself from any problem in the city. Its not that we are running away from problems, but once you have a clear mind, everything can be solve easier.

Gtg now, it costs RM3 for an hour of internet service here. :)

Ciao Ciao!
